We are very proud to announce that Soventix GmbH is part of the largest solar/battery storage (BESS) baseload project in Africa. This is a ground-breaking energy solution for the Kamoa-Kakula Copper Mining Complex in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Capacity☀️

The project will consist of a cutting-edge 222 MWp solar PV system paired with a 123 MVA/526 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS), designed to deliver a 30MW renewable baseload energy supply to the mine.

Sustainability♻️

This project will make a substantial contribution to sustainability, reducing the mine's carbon footprint by approximately 78,750 tonnes per year while generating around 300,000 MWh of clean energy annually, supporting a more environmentally friendly future.

Our Scope🚧

In collaboration with CrossBoundary Energy, Soventix GmbH 's role includes planning, project management, and component supply for this innovative and unique project. We're proud to be contributing our expertise to this landmark initiative, further solidifying our presence in Sub-Saharan Africa.

CrossBoundary Energy will own and operate the plant, with Kamoa Copper paying for the energy consumed.
